SistahBoss was launched in March 2023 by mother and daughter duo, Mary Wideman-Williams and Marquinta Obomanu. The vision for SistahBoss is to equip, empower & encourage Black women leaders through their career journeys. SistahBoss clients develop effective leadership skills and practices through workshops, events & individual coaching. This work is rooted in a commitment to support & inspire black women and girls to be leaders across all sectors and at all levels. SistahBoss is more than a business – it’s a movement!

Mary Wideman-Williams

Co-Founder

Mary Wideman-Williams, MPA is a leadership advisor, trainer and coach. She is committed to growing the capacity of leaders through her consulting practice and as an Affilliate Associate Professor at the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington.

Leveraging decades of public/private sector senior management experience and organizational development expertise, Mary is uniquely qualified to be a teacher and thought partner for Black women leaders. She is passionate about serving as a resource and drawing from her background as a successful executive leader for SistahBoss clients.

Marquinta Obomanu

Co-Founder

Marquinta Obomanu, MPA specializes in program development, group facilitation, and community building. With over 10 years of youth development experience in education and the non-profit sector, she has a passion for mentorship and walking alongside black women in their journeys as young professionals.

SistahBoss is directly aligned with Marquinta's intentionality in carrying out this work by continuing to foster space for black women to be empowered and thrive as leaders.
